OUR AUDIENCE CODE OF CONDUCT PROHIBITS:
- Cast members often greet audience members in the lobby after the show. Please refrain from photography or touching without their express consent.
- Inappropriate or insulting remarks, gestures, jokes, innuendoes, or taunting about a person’s body, attire, gender, gender identity, sexual identity, racial or ethnic background, color, place of birth, citizenship, culture, ancestry, creed, ability, age, health information, genetic information, marital status, public assistance status, familial status, membership or activity in a local commission, or any other status.
- Conduct or speech of an inappropriate or offensive sexual nature. Examples of such speech or conduct include, but are not limited to: use of suggestive sexual comments, jokes, or innuendo; persistent, unwanted flirtation or invitations for dates or other social activities; unwelcome sexual advances or passes; sexual remarks or questions about a person’s body, clothing, or sexual activities; touching, patting, pinching, massaging, hugging, kissing, or other offensive touching, outside the boundaries of consent or consented to production content; or displays of sexually suggestive pictures or objects. Sexually harassing conduct may include conduct between any persons regardless of the sexual orientation of those persons.
- Any conduct reasonably known as unwelcome, offensive, intimidating, hostile, or inappropriate.

Theatre is often written to provoke thought and inspire reflection. All performances include a Content Guide that highlights themes or language that might be found to be offensive or inappropriate by some. This information is available on the AET website and should be reviewed prior to attending a performance. If you find any AET production theme or language makes you uncomfortable, please stay and reflect on the societal message, or exit the theatre quietly.
YOUR FULL ATTENTION MEANS THE WORLD TO THE PERFORMERS. PLEASE ABIDE BY THE FOLLOWING STANDARDS:
- No use of controlled substances, tobacco products (including vaping) or possession of firearms are allowed in the theatre. While alcoholic beverages may be on sale in the lobby audience, members should drink responsibly. If an impaired guest requires intervention by AET staff, it will be handled in a prompt and safe manner.
- No outside food or beverages. Concessions are available in the lobby by donation.
- Only service animals are permitted.
- Refrain from excessive audience chatter and background noise.
- Sit only at your assigned table, according to the records of the Box Office.
- Please arrive in a timely manner so that the show is not delayed. Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of the staff.
- Comply with operations and emergency response procedures.
- Do not disrupt or interfere with a performance or event in any way.
- No phone calls are allowed. Please set cell phones in silent mode so that texting or notifications do not disturb nearby audience members.
- Abstain from use of electronic devices, even with headphones: (i.e. gaming, social media, videos, etc.)
- Audio or video recording during a performance is not allowed and is strictly prohibited by the AET contract with the licensing company.
- No flash photography is permitted during a performance.
- Still photography is allowed if it does not disrupt the performers or other audience members.

IF YOU WITNESS ANY BEHAVIOR THAT VIOLATES THE CODE OF CONDUCT, REPORT IT TO AET STAFF IMMEDIATELY. CODE VIOLATIONS WILL FIRST RESULT IN A WARNING FROM AET STAFF. CONTINUED BEHAVIOR MAY RESULT IN REMOVAL FROM THE AET FACILITY, WITH SUPPORT FROM APPROPRIATE AUTHORITIES IF NECESSARY.
