The King and I

Mar 17, 10:00 AM – 4:30 PM       Grades: 6-12

An iconic scene in The King and I merges cultures by fusing the literary classic “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” and the traditional Khon dance of Siam. Take on the Khon Dance, a combination of drama and dance accompanied by a narrator and percussion.

About the Production:  This Rodgers & Hammerstein classic is set in 1860’s Bangkok. It tells the story of the unconventional and tempestuous relationship that develops between the King of Siam and the British schoolteacher he brought in to teach his many wives and children.
