The Arts Can Change Lives Arts Express believes the arts can change lives and build a better community. Through the Fine Arts Youth Academy, Arts Express opens up the world of the arts to children, and through productions like Let Freedom Sing, Follow The Star and A Centenniel Holiday, Arts Express provides performance opportunities and family entertainment for the entire community. Engage Children's Hearts
The Fine Arts Youth Academy gives school age children the opportunity to participate in opera, dance, orchestra, band, visual arts, mariachi, folklorico dance and musical theater. The summer program, delivered in neighborhood schools, culminates with a student performance open to the public. The fees are purposely kept low so that children of every socioeconomic status can participate. Even so, over thirty percent of the students receive scholarships funded through donations and the revenues generated from Arts Express productions. Build A Better Community
Let Freedom Sing is a community concert, presented annually since 1985 in recognition of America's independence. Over two hundred performers take center stage to celebrate our country's freedom and lift up the continued hope for world peace. Follow The Star is a dramatic staging of the Christmas Story interpreted through music, drama and dance. This production is a collaboration of local singers, instrumentalists and dancers dedicated to sharing the spirit of Christmas. Follow the Star has been a family tradition for nearly two decades. A Centenniel Holiday showcases the artistic talents of the Arts Express Chorale, an ensemble comprised of talented singers from Tucson area high school choirs. A host of musical friends joins the Arts Express Chorale in this festive winter concert. |
