"A Centennial Holiday" will not be produced in 2007.

A Centennial Holiday builds upon the mission of Arts Express by showcasing local high school students in a holiday performance that includes a variety of local Tucson talent. Arts Express has made A Centennial Holiday an annual event and given the musically talented youth of Tucson an opportunity to participate in a quality, public performance during the festive holiday time of the year.

A Centennial Holiday had its inaugural performance in December 2000. This community holiday festival featured the 80-voice Arts Express Chorale, comprised of students from several Tucson area high schools, who were joined on stage by the Arts Express Brass Quintet, Faithful Five, Sinfonia Da Chiesa, Catalina United Methodist Hand Bells and Mariachi Aztlan de Pueblo. Other special guests included Arizona Opera baritone Benjamin Sorenson and Tucson soprano Delores Maddox. The audience was invited to participate in the singing of several popular carols of the season. Included in the program were selections by Gustav Holst, John Rutter, Ralph Vaughan Williams, spirituals and gospel, as well as traditional Hebrew melodies. Literature spanned from the Renaissance to contemporary styles.

A Centennial Holiday is under the direction of Dr. David Ashcraft.
